Overgrown

There are so many things I need to do in the garden, now that spring is here. My usual plan of attack is to do it all at once, and wear myself out. After a full day of extreme gardening, I tend not to want to look at the garden for weeks afterwards. So, this time, I will be doing small bits, here and there, to prevent garden burn out.

The nasturtiums, or rather one nasturtium plant, has taken over one of the garden beds, and is trying to pull my citrus trees down as well. Most of the strawberries didn't survive the winter, but I had one potted that should go in the ground soon. Treeferns need pruning - now that spring is here, they should finish being dormant and put out some new fronds. The old fronds were terribly burnt by a late summer heat wave.

I'm debating whether to resurrect the bottom garden bed - although it's in the sunniest part of the back yard (which is not very sunny), plants just don't seem to want to grow in it. I'm out of eucimulch (eucalyptus mulch) for the front beds, so I can't expand the mulched sections. I will trim a few things back, and see if I can find another few natives to fill in the gaps.

Lots of things to do.....
